I'm still here...

It has been a bit difficult this last few weeks. Tomorrow morning will be my fifth visit to the ENT. It has been a weekly kinda thing since coming home from vacation. We did end up driving to CA... no flying allowed. Now it seems so long ago.

My days are filled... well, there goes the #!%&@ alarm again. Time for more ear drops. One kind at 9, 3, and 9 and the other kind at 12 and 6 for a grand total of 23 drops. DH set my phone to go off as a reminder... lovely. But it does help to keep me on track. Oh, well, this too shall pass.

I just printed the next Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along block. Be back in a while after letting the drops settle in. And I'll share a pic of my block. It looks super quick.

making lavender sachets...

The sachets will be one of the favors for the ladies attending the herbal evening I am presenting at my church. It will be an evening of general information about herbs to include some of the folklore, medicinal uses, Biblical history and culinary uses... of course there will be food! I hope I can pull this off.... going to be a busy weekend.

UPS delivers... finally!

I will share tomorrow... I'm sooooo excited! And it smells WONderful!!!

Completed top - off the design wall!

After sewing Block 3 this morning for the Jelly Roll Sampler, I looked at all the projects on my design wall. Too many!

Well, this one is ready to be passed on to the group of ladies who will quilt it. They make kits that contain the blocks, border, binding, batting and backing. You can take a kit and finish the entire quilt or just do a portion. For this one, I have just completed the top and will turn it in for someone else to finish. The system works great; especially if one is as behind as I am. ;-0

Here is a close-up of one of the blocks with a very nice sentiment. Many folks just sign their names and others... well, read this one.

Some of the cutest ones are done by kids... they even draw pictures!

It is off the design wall and back in its bag. Moving on to another project!

Block #3

Here is #3 in the "Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along."

The quilt along finishes with the last block being offered August 2.

Sharing a cuppa with DD...

Good Morning! I've already had my coffee this morning but DD made a pot of tea so I just had to have one.

It is Peet's Tea that DS/DDIL keep supplying DD. Hubby and I receive periodic mailings of Peet's coffee. I am partial to 'Major Dickason's Blend.'

The tea we are enjoying this morning is Snow Leopard... smooth and floral with a white grape sweetness. Very nice! No time to make scones this morning; maybe another day.

I hope your morning has been relaxing and that you are ready to carpe diem!

"I left my heart.... in San Francisco"

We had a wonderful time with our DS/DDIL in the Bay Area. Time flew by, unfortunately, and I am ready to go back again! Hurry July!!! We tried to see and do everything we could but did not spend nearly enough time at each place. I have hundreds of photos to go through and will share them as I get to it.

I would have loved to have spent the day in Tyler Florence's store in Mill Valley. Here is a link to the website. It is as beautiful as it appears in the pics. The back room was a browsing/reading cookbook room with comfy chairs and a stove. I could have purchased one of everything! Didn't see him when we were there but he popped in when DS/DDIL were in one day.

This blogging stuff is still kinda brand new to me. And I am trying to catch up around the house as well as planning an "herbal evening" event for the ladies in my church (more about that another time). And I've already been to the ENT again... ugh! Still having problems, but it is getting better, ever so slowly. While being in CA, I could breathe! Coming home to the desert southwest, we were met with blowing dust, wind gusts over 50mph, pollen galore, 80 degree temps and 10% humidity! But it's a dry heat. Uh-huh, and they keep telling us that in the summer when it's 104 at 10 p.m. at night! I'm staying in!

Moving on...
The beaches were beautiful. One we hiked to was Tennessee Valley Beach. There were flowers and critters along the way.

This bobcat was eyeing some turkeys in the field to the right. Calla lilies were blooming everywhere; all over Mill Valley and in San Francisco, as were poppies.

The lawn in front of the Conservatory of Flowers was just beautiful! And inside, the orchids were spectacular.
