I will be gone for a few weeks... again.

I have replenished my little travel tin...
(well at least this one, so far)
...with additional pieces
for my tumbling blocks.

This is a take-along project
that goes with me when we travel.
I purchased the stamps at a quilt show.

Blue Monday ... Parlez-vous fran├žais ?

mmmm.... not yet!
But it didn't stop me from totally enjoying
this movie a few months ago!

Here is the English cover version in....

...for Blue Monday.
I have recommended this movie to sooooo many friends.
It is hilariously funny!
(English subtitles)


But then,
just last week,
Hollywood released this movie...

...and I KNEW I would most likely
save my $$$ and skip this one
simply because of the actors
previews on TV.
I read a review here
(and others online)
and laughed, as it was predictable.

...it includes too many crude, lewd jokes, sexual excess,
body paint nudity, violence, and some foul language.
Needless to say, the crude jokes aren’t very funny either.
The movie’s basic concept is funny enough without this vile comedy.
Worse, the movie’s moral messages get lost within the lewdness.

There are Hollywood remakes of movies
I have really enjoyed
and many of which I prefer the original.

Friendship Block....

Anne, over at "Bunny Tales"
by Bunny Hill Designs,
is having a pet parade!
So I sent our Winston's pic.

Winston was a rescue from the
local shelter here in town.

He and DD became the best of friends.
(and she named him)
Winston was a bit underweight and very shy
in the beginning.

He is somewhat of a magnet for whatever is in the yard.

Just the other day he was laying in the grass
just sunning himself and watching the trees.
Before I could snap his pic, he darted!
(a little blurry... he is fast!)

still here...

I know, I know... you've all been wondering,
"Where did she go?" (Haven't you?)
I have been hanging out with these since Monday the 2nd....
After failing TWO stress tests,
the cardiologist ordered an angiogram.
I am "good for 5 years.... and
I have a better chance of being
struck by lightning than having
a heart attack." WHEW!

What I really needed (wanted)
was one of these....

Hubby did not indulge me.
(Hyacinth will be on the lookout for one, though.)
It was easier to "recline" or to stand than to sit.
Mostly, I reclined...
The pain is gone, and I feel okay.

Last week I watched it rain...
(that is one thing I miss living here in
the desert southwest~this is
our rainy season... all 9 inches in a few months)
...and watched the birds out the family room window.
These popped up the morning after that rain.

I kept spotting this thrasher in the yard, too.

But then I saw this one!
And thought... well, he had just played in the birdbath.

But, no!... it was a parent and a young one.

And then there were the hummers....
lots of hummers!

Too many pics to choose from,
but I liked this one.

We did have a nest last year in the red oak.
"Somebirdy" got the eggs, though, as well as
the robin egg in the nest of the same tree.
The eggs are no bigger than a TicTac!

I plan on sewing tomorrow!!!
A friend is leaving our guild so
we make a friendship block, sign it,
and give them as a farewell gift.
Guild is Saturday and I have to go...
I'm the president!

I have been able to visit some of you this week.
My, my... you've been busy!
