Mail call... again! winnings from the
Fall into Fall Giveaway.
This is what I received just today from

Look at these lovely greens... my favorite color!
They and these pinks are a welcomed addition
to my fabric collection for a Dear Jane.

 And look at this pattern!
I love these flowers!

This book has some wool
and punch needle patterns.

And this book looks interesting.
Certainly a new concept for me.

Thanks so much Rowena!

still sewing...

The table topper from yesterday is together.
Last night I sewed a little more...
Three more of the ? blocks above... some sort of saw tooth?
And then add a thin inner border and a larger border.
This will be a 42-inch table square.
But now, I am off running errands...

mail call....

This cute card came in the mail today!
It's from my dear friend, Denise.
You can visit her HERE...
 (inside the card)
 (and the envelope...
she even included our Winston.
He is still a little shy but
Denise is able to pet him...
with no "teethy kisses.")

Thanks, Denise!  I love the card!

Thimbleberries Sew Day...

Here is my top!
I need to rearrange a few blocks
to balance things out.
Overall, I am pleased and
glad I changed to this green.

Here is the pattern in the book,
"Quilting for Harvest."
There are
"20 great projects from Harvest to Halloween."
I love them all...

Thanks for hosting  today, Sandie!

So, then, hubby comes home and....
treats for me!!!!
This is the fun size... only about 12  M&M's,
but that's okay...I don't need 'em.
What I really need is a coffee!

Have a great rest of the day!
I'm off to have my cuppa coffee.

Thimbleberries project today...

On my design wall this morning...
woo-hoo!  I'm sewing!
And I may change the dark fabric I posted.
Just not sure of it, yet...

My Cali kids are back home and to work today.
We had a good visit but, as you know,
it is always too short!

Spotted this little critter out the door to the airport.

Sew Scraps Along with Pleasant Home

Hello and Happy Saturday!

In an effort to find out what is going on
 with the noreply-comment "issue,"
I found during a search a very delightful blog.

Please take a few moments to visit
a new friend...

HERE is Jodi's original post about
sewing scraps along with her.
Won't you join us?

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

I am hoping that the noreply-comment issue has been resolved.
Jodi emailed me through some additional steps to try, and hopefully that has taken care of the problem.

Well, company is coming on Thursday!
My DS/DDIL will be here from the bay area!!!
Truly soooo much to do and soooo little time.

Have a great weekend.

Photo finish for the week's end...

Happy Friday!

Just a quick post to thank everyone who has emailed me about the issues with the noreply-comment at blogger issue.

Hopefully, it will be resolved... SOON!

I do appreciate your stopping by and leaving a comment.  And I will email you back by finding your email via your blog.

Hubby is back from Lowe's...

Why is it that you always need "something" when you purchase a new something for your house?... as in a new light fixture for the breakfast area.  Most times the screws are too short... or my favorite... I need this particular "tool" to get this job done.

Of course, I like new "tools" and gadgets for sewing and quilting, too.

Have a great weekend.  We are finishing up projects.  Our DS/DDIL will be here Thursday!!!

Can you help me with this?
Even when leaving a comment
on my own blog,
I come up as a

My settings are set correctly.
And this morning while talking to
a blogger friend,
she commented on a post of mine and
 her comment
showed up in my email as

Am I doing something wrong?
Have a missed a setting somewhere?
Is it blogger?
Do I show up as a noreply....
when commenting on your blogs?
Gosh!  I hope not!!!

Thank you all for stopping by my blog
and leaving comments.
I would like to respond...

Any ideas?

Thanks very much,

New Quilt Rack...

Would you look at this!

When I got to church this morning,
this quilt rack was presented to me by
a dear, sweet couple.
It was made by Mr. B., and
was given to me by him and Mrs. B.
in appreciation for the
Tuesday evening ladies events
that I hosted last year at our church.

It is a beautiful solid oak,
and it fits perfectly in my home.
I am just thrilled!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
(here is one event)
This theme was "Just Desserts."
A friend and I made all the desserts,
used all my dishes,
(you should have seen my car!)
but rented the bistro tables and chairs.
It was a memorable evening
and a lot of fun.
We played games and chatted and
ate and had door prizes every 15 minutes!
(I planned one every month
with a different theme.)

Longaberger Basket...

Do you collect these?
Are you familiar with them?

I have a few that my sister has gifted to me.
And then I have a few that... well,
I find in thrift stores...
like this one!
Love the price!
The basket is about 4 inches tall and
with the handle about 8 inches total.

Blue Monday

It's Blue Monday.
Visit Smiling Sally
for additional participants.

This Downy Woodpecker
was chased to the top of this tree.
Not a cloud in the sky!
During last fall and winter at our home,
I observed that these Gray-breasted Jays
can be quite nasty to other birds.
But, I still find them beautiful
and fun to watch and photograph.
(...and this was who chased the
Downy Woodpecker...)
These photos were taken in Alto, NM
at my friend Denise's place.

Dye Workshop today...

A beautiful day... and, oh my!
Beautiful fabrics!!!
This is what my backyard looked like
just a few hours ago.
We began at 8 a.m. this morning
and finished about 1:45 p.m.

 This technique was an attempt
to make a color gradation in the fabric.

 The red on the left...
and the yellow below (left)
are a good example.

These were our FQs that we dyed.
We also dyed half yards.
For those, we folded and clamped,
scrunched and rubber banded...
You'll have to wait to see those on another post and day
as everyone took them home in baggies.
That fabric (as well as the FQs)
needs to go through the washer.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

October memories...

Just a short post today.
I am having a group of ladies here tomorrow
for a dye workshop and I have things to prepare.
I'll share the results next week.

In the meantime...

Aren't digital cameras great?
Taking a picture of a picture.

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

Every fall, my sister and BIL invited us
to "pick a pumpkin" from the fields...
with one stipulation!
You had to be able to carry it!
Needless to say,
my DS wanted the one in the top pic!
All 127 pounds!

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

There is a
"Fall into Fall Quilt Bloggers Giveaway"
going on that I wanted to share with you.
I missed getting in on this...
maybe next year or another theme.
Click the scarecrow to view all the participants.
It is hosted by Quilting With Debi.

And don't forget the FALL-O-WEEN Blog Hop.
Click the button on my sidebar.

...and Kaaren of The Painted Quilt
has posted another cute First Friday Freebie!

Have a great weekend!
