What day is this...???

It seems I have missed quite a few days... an awful ear ache. But I was able to sew together the latest Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along Block #2.

Hopefully, I will be better by next week when we are... sing along here, "headin' off to San Francisco..." YEAH!!! I can't wait! Visiting with my DS/DDIL and doing and seeing everything I possibly can in a week. Should be lots of fun!!

I've been catching up on a few recorded TV series I like and watched a few movies (with closed captioning, you know) as it helps when you can't hear too well. And this morning I am cutting circles for a project... just a mindless kinda thing, with scissors.

I'll be back later with progress on my circles.

Hope your day is going well...
I can't believe it's Wednesday!?!

Design Wall Monday.... and that blinking red light!

I have a red light that blinks on my machine when the bobbin has about a yard or so of thread left. Did I see it blinking? No... time for a break from sewing and time to post a pic.

My guild gets siggies on blocks that we then sew together for quilts to be given to soldiers in the Warrior Transition Unit at our local military post. Here is the one on my design wall this morning.

Speaking of design wall... I love mine! It is new! DH bought 4'x8' sheets of styro insulation which I covered with batting and he screwed to the wall in my workroom. It is wonderful in that I can display more than one project at a time.

Judy L, of Patchwork Times, hosts a weekly Design Wall Monday. Check out all the inspiration HERE.

Don't you just love those Christmas blocks?!? They are from my friend crazy'boutquilts. We swapped 12" blocks Christmas 2009... well, actually January 2010. ;-) Here is a better pic of my full design wall.

And look! DH even cut a hole for the electrics on that wall! :-D

Well, I have a lot of catching up to do this week as I got nothing done over the weekend. The mulberry trees have begun their attack on us asthma sufferers. And so it goes...

Have a great afternoon.

ready to call it a day...

...and maybe sit and trace the Easter Sampler I printed this morning onto a background ready for stitching.

This strippy quilt is coming along nicely from the book, "Strippin' Along." The book uses jelly rolls plus some additional yardage and has some wonderful applique details to add to your quilts. I need to sew some more "piano keys" together for the top and bottom.

Here is a sneak peak of a little table topper in the works for the 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Blog Crawl on March 16th. Kathleen creates the most beautiful tablescapes... and with food, too! :-D She also shares some of her wonderful recipes.

I also cut squares for a baby quilt that "shoulda been done yesterday." The colors are all very soft in pastel yellow, peach, and sage green. My nephew and his wife are due this month... it's a girl! There will be a sewing marathon here next week!

That's about all for today. I need to put my feet up for a bit. Tonight is two hours of ballroom dancing for DH and me. We will NOT be appearing locally or nationally on any TV show... still, it has been a lot of fun for him and me. ;-)

Enjoy your weekend!

First Friday Freebie

Happy Friday! Another First Friday Freebie has been posted by Kaaren on The Painted Quilt. You will have plenty of time to get this darling sampler finished just in time for Easter.

Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt-Along...

Here is my first block in this quilt-along series.
With the fabrics being so dark,  I just could not get a picture I liked...
even with some 'adjusting' in my photo program.
 But here it is.
